RESTART?!

My game restarted itself! I have the lite version, so I only had 10 villagers. I only had the block totem and hollow totem left to complete and my villagers had plenty of food. I was on the game and pressed my home button because I had nothing else to do on it at the time. I came back to it like 30 minutes later and it was on the menu screen. So I pressed play and it RESTARTED MY WHOLE GAME!!! That is EXTREMELY frustrating!! The only way I could get more villagers was through converting them. I spent days working on my village and its gone.
